Copper Jewellery Design and Making for beginners

Whilst living abroad, I gained many years of valuable teaching experience and I had the opportunity to teach both children and adults.

Arriving back in England, I undertook a period of study. First obtaining my bachelor’s in contemporary crafts.

After that, I continued with my studies, and graduated with a master’s degree in design, specialising in Jewellery and metalwork.

I have had a studio for a few years at Southbank Studios and in that time, I have had the opportunity to exhibit and take part in Yorks Open Stuidos for two years running as well as other local events.

I was also fortunate to be commissioned by the National trust to make a Christmas star for the Treasures House in York 2022.

Course details

This is a one day course for beginners or those with a little experience of working with metals.  With 1-1 classes , you will be guided through the process of making your very own copper Jewellery. You will have an Introduction to tools, materials and techniques,  such as annealing, sawing ,texturing, Sanding , filing , and Polishing .

                    

Times and Days

Workshops run from 10.30am to 3.30pm. Half hour for lunch and two short refreshment breaks.

10.30 am – 11.30 am      A morning of design and  introduction to the workshop

11.30 –11.45 am             Break

11.45 am — 1 pm            Begin your jewellery creation

1 pm- 1.30 pm                 Lunch

1.30 pm— 3.30 pm         Creating  the jewellery that you designed.

2.30 pm – 2.45 pm       Break

2.45 pm — 3.30 pm       Finishing your  Jewellery

You can choose a day that suits you, either: Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, or Saturday.

These days/times are not suitable?…. don’t worry just let me know and we can arrange a day or time that is.

What’s included in the price?

All your materials and tools are included. You will also be provided with your own sketch book and a jewellery box to take your jewellery home with you.

Deposit & Cancellation policy

A minimum deposit of 50% is due when booking. Cancellation and a full refund can be obtained up to 4 weeks before the course starts
